At Boston School International, students build on their own language heritage in classrooms where languages flow together and make every lesson richer.
In active, multilingual learning spaces, students switch between languages, share ideas and grow curious about different cultures. Through this multilingual mindset, students connect confidently in a world that feels smaller and more globally connected every day.
Enjoy a rich linguistic environment, learning with peers from 45 nationalities in a diverse, inclusive community.
Benefit from a student-centered approach that blends British and Costa Rican curricula for learners ages 2 to 18.
Experience tailored English classes within the Cambridge curriculum, with three levels and EAL support for a personalized path.
Build strong fluency in English and Spanish throughout school, then add Mandarin as a third language from primary onward.
Master English, grow love and confidence in Spanish as a home language, and study Mandarin from Primary through to Baccalaureate.
Preschool
In Preschool, children explore Spanish and English through play, music and daily routines. They use both languages in real moments and grow confident in simple conversations. They build strong foundations for multilingual learning in the years ahead.
Primary Years Programme
In the Primary Years Programme (PYP), students use language learning to build an international community where they feel connected and communicate clearly. Through everyday experiences, they use language to bridge cultures, strengthen relationships and grow as both global and local citizens at the same time.
Middle Years Programme
In the Middle Years Programme (MYP), students study Spanish A and English A: Language and Literature and use both languages to think, create and connect. EAL/SAL support identifies their level and guides progress so every learner grows as a confident communicator.
IB Diploma Programme
In the IB Diploma Programme, students pursue the Bilingual IB Diploma and study Spanish A: Language and Literature (High Level) and English A: Literature (Standard Level). They sharpen academic language in both, grow confidence and critical thinking, and build a strong international mindset.
Through a rich blend of language experiences, students develop the skills and resilience they need to thrive.
From day one, students complete a personalized language assessment and a short language profile questionnaire. This first snapshot shows their current level and guides next steps. Students work toward at least a B2 level in English, ready to meet higher education standards.
Through International Opportunities programs at International Schools Partnership, students join cultural exchanges, debates and creative film projects. They use their languages in real situations, share ideas and respond in the moment. Each experience becomes a safe, exciting rehearsal space where they practice and grow confident.
Parents join the journey too. With guides, webinars and language tips, they reinforce learning at home. These practical tools make it easier to support students’ multilingual development.
Celebrating the multiculturalism that unites us.
Anyvone Cruz, Mother
As a foreign family, we deeply value how Boston embraces multiculturalism and allows our children to feel part of this community. The Folkloric Gala was a beautiful reflection of that sense of belonging. We thank everyone for making possible an event that strengthens our roots and brings cultures together with such care.
