A Little Bit About Me & Who I Am
I would like to express my gratitude and my excitement to be the new Primary Principal (1st-6th grade). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am looking forward to tackling the challenge with an open mind and an open heart.
I was born in Venezuela. At 12 years old, I moved to the U.S.A. (Miami, Florida). While in high school, I earned a singing scholarship and was able to attend college where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
In 2010, I moved to Panama to pursue international teaching and specialize in the IB/PYP curriculum. In 2016, I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where I continued to teach the IB curriculum and obtained a Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Management. I moved back to Panama in July 2019 to join the BSI team. Besides teaching, I love singing and acting.
What I Believe In
My educational philosophy is about being able to help and inspire every student to perform at their best capacity academically instilling all the attributes and attitudes of the IB learner’s Profile as well as the Leader in Me habits. Using different teaching inclusion and differentiation strategies to meet students needs on an individual basis while making sure they can equally access the curriculum. Also, ensuring that each student is academically catered and challenged according to his/her strength and weak areas. I am confident that through the inclusion and differentiation strategies implemented, students will be able to help one another and this way they will be a tool for mutual learning. Being aware of their individuality and the kind of learner that each student is in order to help them more efficiently is key.
I believe, we as educators, should model and encourage students to be well-rounded, internationally minded individuals, displaying the IB attributes and attitudes at all times. They should aim to be risk-takers, principled, communicators, inquirers, thinkers, open-minded, balanced, caring, and reflective human beings.
Education is a journey in which we are all part takers. Education should always be innovative, challenging, and essential to reaching our goals and achieving our dreams. Whether you would like to become the next president, an inspiring and passionate teacher, or a school principal, you will always need a well-grounded education to take you where you want to be.
